Financial literacy is a set of knowledge and skills necessary for people to financially secure themselves and make sound financial decisions. Financial literacy isn’t something that is taught in the schooling system but more so rooted in the family dynamic of each individual person. Human beings make decisions based off what they were taught. If taught poor money management skills, then its more than likely a person will follow the same path unless taught otherwise. Financially literate citizens are well versed in issues of money and prices, and are able to manage their personal budget responsibly. Finances are an important part of everyday life and financial literacy is the best way to prevent over-indebtedness of citizens.
